My background prior to Hyper Island consists of web development studies and two years studying spatial planning. I'm very interested in fashion and design. Maybe caring a bit too much about what I wear. As for design, it is something I'm very passionate about and love to work with it. For the last year I've been more focused on illustrations and static creations. This to keep on developing my old aesthetic background with analogue illustrations and drawings.

My name is Dennis.
I'm an idea person first, a designer second, a tech-nerd - always. I like to take a creative tack on everything, to think bigger, bolder and stronger than everybody else and then stun them by actually making it work. I grew up in the contrast of a small inland town and the exotic sounds and colours of my father's Pet shop. The first homepage I did was actually for my father's Pet shop.
Longing for the world outside of cages I studied sociology and went for field studies to Bangladesh and Nepal. This was great inspiration. These first months at Hyper Island have been really intense - I'm learning and producing a lot more than before. My studies at Hyper Island are based on what I have brought with me from my previous education: a broad knowledge of media and strong focus on graphics, which is my speciality and greatest interest. I feel that this is the real turning point were I am really getting the chance to go deep, broad and focus on design while trying to develop as much as possible.
I’m 19 years old and my goal is to continue do what I love and to be really good at graphic design. The perfect place to have my internship on is a place with a great atmosphere were we can have a lot of fun together.

It all started with some lego pieces. To create stuff out of nothing is something that always inspired me. To watch a pen work a white paper and end up with a monster, logo or a random sketch is what I think a pretty cool thing.
So I mostly do print and photography but this year at Hyper Island I’ve started with motion and 3D and see that as something I might want to work with in the future.
On my spare time I like to do different boardsports depending on the weather. Been skateboarding for quite a while now and I must say that i love that sport. Go out clubbing and party is of course a nice thing to do as well.

I’m a geek.
A geek in the sense that, if I find something I think is interesting, it will be difficult to keep me away from absorbing every ounce of knowledge I can gather on that one thing and see how I can put it to use. Previously, my focus has been on creative writing, something I still thoroughly enjoy, but the last couple of years I have really sunk my teeth into the world of design, and being here at Hyper Island is like sucking at the vein.

I come from a creative background and a South American family where art always has been close by. I've been drawing since I was a kid and have specialized in character design which I find most interesting.
In a company I can bring fresh ideas to the table, I love humor and find it great when a more or less twisted idea gets implemented on a concept and work. I'm very familiar with the Adobe (Macromedia) software especially Photoshop and Illustrator.
Motion is a passion I have, maybe not the typical After Effects though I use the software, but a more traditional 2D comic mixed with 3D modeling. I hope to develop more within the two.
When it comes to programming I control xhtml and css plus the basics of Flash, this is not really my game though.

Hi! This is Niklas, also known as ”Plast”, a flexible tech nerd in an ever-changing world. I can do design and motion as well but my specialty is the tech part. I have experience in JavaScript, PHP, CSS, mySQL, HTML and Action Script. Most code basically works the same, it just looks a bit different so I see no problem in learning i.e. ASP if requested.
One of my strengths is my logical way of thinking and sense for mathematics. That’s probably why I have been doing a lot of coding at Hyper Island, I think it’s fun while many others don’t. I also have skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, After Effects and a couple of years ago I did some 3D modelling in 3D Studio Max. That’s the “technical information” about me. My friends describe me as a perfectionist who put a lot of effort in my work. I have an eye for detail and I always work to the best of my ability.

As students of Hyper Island we are told to always challenge ourselves and to take every opportunity to fail and, by failing, to learn. That is why I, a designer and illustrator, in an attempt to prove myself so heroic that it borders on the suicidal, chose technology as my specialization.
That decision says a lot about me I think, it should tell you where my passion is, in good and innovative design, and that for me happiness lies in doodling and drawing on every available piece of paper. It should also tell you that I am serious in my ambition to learn and develop, both in my skills and as a person.

I've always been into the technological aspect of things, everything from the actual hardware setup, network configuration to more software oriented things such as databases and programming. I have always been surrounded with creativity. And it has appeared in different ways. Before I found my way to Hyper Island, I did the tour both in the music industry and the film industry. But I wanted to complement my skills even more. That’s why I decided to go for design.
I am looking for a creative environment with people that inspire me. My goal is to work as a concept creative and animator at an advertising bureau or a film postproduction-company. That’s where my ideas come in to action!
I’m all about ideas, and concepts. I want to work with conceptual design, both digital and analogue, in the role as Art Director. Concepts are what everything else in a project rests on; as long as a good idea shines through you can always engage people. A nice design can’t do all the work. I want to try everything at least once, so for my internship I want to work at a smaller design agency where I can express my creativity more freely and try different roles. Or an agency with offices in several locations, I want to have the chance of moving within an agency where I can develop and stay in the future. I find inspiration in the people I meet, Wikipedia and my hobbies. I collect My Little Ponies Hasbro's 80’s cult figurines and I also make stuff out of pearl beds.
I started out doing stuff for the web back in the days when personal websites still were king and 5mb of free hosting without banners were the ultimate joy. The design portals inspired me to continue, but I always felt that my static work lacked something. That's when I turned to the more development side of life. By adding dynamic functionality to my works I had found my calling.
During the years I've come across most common technologies, front-end as-well as back-end. My strongest sides is my solid foundation in technology and my ability to learn fast.

The name is Vedran Besirevic and the age is 26. My works, media and choice of tools reflect a simple philosophy in clean, functional and effective visual communication. “Born by east, raised by west” is the story of my life. Originally born in former European country of Yugoslavia I have early developed a passion for design and art. Today I can establish that my works are strongly affected by eastern political and cultural ideologies during the 80s and 90s in this part of Europe. Since my life has a new destination in Sweden for several years now this personal style has also been affected by western understanding of the world.
